Reserverights Profile

Reserve Rights is a two-token stablecoin platform that was launched in May 2019 after a successful initial public offering. The purpose of Reserve Rights is to provide a multipurpose storage of value, especially in regions with an untrustworthy banking infrastructure and in regions where hyperinflation is a problem.

Reserve Rights now represents an ERC-20 token based on the Ethereum blockchain. As a result, it is protected from attacks by a secure Proof-of-Work (POW) consensus mechanism.

There are three types of coins on the Reserve Rights platform:

  1. RSV is a stable cryptocurrency that can be used the same way as any other fiat currency.
  2. RSR is a token that is used to provide RSV stability.

Other stablecoins used as part of the Reserve Rights smart contract to improve the stability of RSV.

Reserve Rights Tokens

The two Reserve Rights token mechanism involves:

  • Stablecoin known as Reserve stablecoin (RSV), which is supported by a smart-contract-driven asset pool.
  • The second token is the Reserve Rights (RSR) token, which is used to keep RSV stable at its $1 price level with the help of the arbitrage system.

Unlike RSV, the Reserve Rights (RSR) token is volatile, and its main purpose is to keep RSV stability. It can also be used to vote on management proposals and in that way, the token allows owners to determine the future of the Reserve Rights ecosystem.

In general, RSV is a token that is protected from high inflation by RSR. RSR is used to recapitalize the network ecosystem whenever the protocol content in the vault devalues. Initially, RSV has a 1:1 correlation to the U.S. dollar.

RSV RSR Stabilizing The Peg

Reserve Vault - Stabilizing The Peg

This binding will be maintained until the token will be secured by a pool of blockchain assets. These assets include securities, actual products, and money. A total of hundred different assets with low volatility are planned to be used to protect system participants from the system's risks.

At later stages of the project, Reserve Rights plans to support Reserve's stablecoin with an increasingly diversified pool of assets and eventually push it away from its peg to the U.S. dollar, by- creating an alternative reserve asset instead, in which RSV tokens will be an interest holding pool.

The Reserve Rights have a fixed supply of one hundred billion tokens. As of October 2020, less than 10% of them are currently in circulation.

A maximum supply of tokens has already been created, but much of it is blocked for various reasons, including 55.75% of the supply blocked in a smart contract known as the "slow wallet". Funds from this wallet have been released with a one-month delay with a public online announcement from the Reserve team explaining the purpose of the release.

Reserve Rights Creation

  • Reserve Rights was founded by Nevin Freeman and Matt Elder.
  • Freeman is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Reserve.
  • Matt Elder is an experienced engineer, who previously worked at Google and Quixey, and is now the technical director of the project, handling the architecture of Reserve's protocol implementation.

Since launching in 2019, Reserve's team has grown significantly and now consists of more than twenty people, including engineers, developers, lawyers, and compliance officers who are all united by the common goal of making Reserve an open, scalable, stable currency that helps economic growth.

Reserve Rights Features

Unlike other stablecoins, which are typically supported by U.S. dollars (USD) stored in a reserve bank account and controlled by a stablecoin issuer or trusted custodian, Reserve stablecoins are supported by a basket of cryptocurrencies managed by smart contracts.

This pool initially consists of Ethereum Stablecoin assets, which include USD Coin (USDC), True USD (TUSD) and Paxos (PAX), but Reserve is planning to later transition to a more diverse pool that could eventually include fiat currencies, stocks, commodities and complex asset types such as synthetic assets and derivatives.

We can say that the main feature of Reserve is its Reserve Rights token, which is released and becomes available for sale when the RSV Stablecoin loses its peg to the U.S. dollar.

Funds from the sale of RSR tokens are used to replenish the RSV collateral pool, and when RSV is worth more than $1, the additional collateral will be used to buy back and burn RSV on the secondary market to reduce supply.

Arbitrageurs can benefit from this mechanism by buying RSVs at $1 from a reserve smart contract for RSRs at a time when the RSV is priced above $1 in the market and then selling it at the current market price in order to make a profit from that difference. This option is only available to RSR holders and is currently one of the main incentives for owning RSR tokens.

Reserve Rights Advantages and Disadvantages

AdvantagesDisadvantages

Summary

Many traders consider RSR to be a good investment because of its previous results and expected results in the future. However, it is important to remember that the cryptocurrency market is very volatile and prices can differ from expectations, so it is important to do careful research before making any investment.
