SWCC Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, operates in the energy systems, communication systems, and device businesses in Japan and internationally. The company operates through three segments: Energy and Infrastructure Business, Electrical Equipment and Components Business, and Communication and Industrial Devices Business. The Energy and Infrastructure Business segment offers electric power infrastructure solutions, including power cables, power devices, installation, and maintenance for power infrastructure system networks covering electricity generation, transmission, and distribution; construction wire solutions comprising low-voltage general-purpose cables for electrical wiring inside buildings, and fire extinguishing/prevention cables for providing power to disaster-prevention equipment in the event of a fire; and seismic isolation equipment and vibration control products for keeping people safe and minimizing damage to buildings and infrastructure networks when an earthquake strikes. The Electrical Equipment and Components Business segment provides oxygen-free copper under MiDIP brand, a highly conductive and resistant to hydrogen embrittlement used for eco-cars; superfine flat wires for copper-silver alloy heater wires and electronic components; and supplies products for heavy electric machinery and industrial equipment. The segment also offers probe pins; and vehicle heater and flat magnet wires for vehicles, drive motors, and reactors. The Communication and Industrial Devices Business segment offers fiber-optic cables for long-distance communication and LAN cables for short-distance communication; wire harnesses and electric wires used for the internal wiring of household appliances; and roller products for fitting inside copiers and printers. The company was formerly known as SWCC Showa Holdings Co., Ltd. and changed its name to SWCC Corporation in April 2023. SWCC Corporation was incorporated in 1936 and is headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan.
